Alla luce della bella iniziativa lanciata dalla nota rivista inglese NME, abbiamo stilato le nostre personali classifiche riguardo ai dischi più rappresentavi dell’ultima decade.

A furor di popolo, spiccano i nomi di Queens of the Stone Age e Black Heart Procession,  mentre i Radiohead tengono testa con il capolavoro “Kid A”. Non potevano di certo mancare Maynard Keenan e soci, “Lateralus” tra i dischi più amati ed ascoltati del decennio. Maturati nello stesso vivaio, gli A Perfect Circle lasciano un’impronta seria nell’immaginario romantico e dark di un decennio in musica. Dal nostro paese è già un classico l’ultimo (capo)lavoro del Il Teatro degli Orrori, seguiti a ruota dai Verdena; tra gli outsider spuntano i nomi di At the Drive In (sottovalutatissimi), Mastodon e Groove Armada. Antony e Mark Lanegan si confermano “voci” del decennio, tra le donne Lisa Germano, Pj Harvey e la Brody Dalle del micidiale “Coral Fang” tengono testa ad una schiacciante supremazia mascolina. Agli ultimi posti, non di certo in quanto a dischi venduti, la furbizia degli Strokes, il revival dei White Stripes e la classe dei sempreverdi Depeche Mode.
